Sexy Jeans

Ask women what it’s like to feel sexy, to look sexy, and most women could probably make your ears bleed in a matter of minutes.  Ask what makes a jean sexy, and all the sudden you have a much more philosophical conversation on your hands.  So, what is a sexy jean?  And what makes a jean sexy or not? 

Is it the same things that makes butts and legs look sexy?  Is our brain stimulated by clothed legs and, by default, the clothing on the legs?  I guess that harkens back to the adage of old “Is it the man that makes the clothes or the clothes that make the man?”

Well, ladies, in this post we briefly discuss two things: lines and butts.  As you’re reading this, know that you are just a few clicks away from finding out what will make your jeans so… well, sexy!

Lines

The lines of the jean determine the silhouette.  To create a sexy silhouette for your body type, take a deep breath, zen out, strike a yoga pose… Do what you’ve got to do to think BALANCE!

If you’ve got great hips and your girlfriends are always complimenting you on your hot “hour-glass figure,” then choose bootcut or flare to balance the curvature of your hips. 

If you’re long and thin, there are a number of leg openings you can go with that compliment those lengthy lines.  Narrow, straight leg, bootcut, wide leg and flare are all in your repertoire.  Go crazy.
Round and rectangle? Mid-rise bootcut jeans will slenderize and tenderize those lines for a truly sexy look. 

Making your lines pleasing to the eye is dependent upon what you think is sexy on you, so sometimes the best advice is to go with your instincts.  You can only pull off a style if you look and feel comfortable, so make sure you pick a style that YOU feel good in! 

Butts

In our world at indiDenim, we think about pockets - a lot… and it shows.  Seriously, let’s face it.  Butts attract our attention for a reason.  And depending on who you ask, butts are pretty sexy all by themselves, but you can’t just go around mooning people to attract the attention you crave in that direction now can you?

Not unlike shaking your tail feathers, our human nature urges us to embellish, embellish, embellish!  Sexy jeans call for sexy pockets, embroidery or embellishments.

Butts make big statements especially when it comes to picking pockets for your next denim purchase.  There are a lot of people out there who don’t pay any attention to pocket designs when they are buying a new pair of jeans, but jean pockets have a big effect on the overall look that any one particular pair of jeans can possibly pull off.  The cold hard truth is that the pockets of a jean can make or break an entire ensemble. 

Despite all this, most premium denim companies do not prioritize the task of picking the right jean pockets for different sizes and shapes of derrieres.  Once you find a fit you like, you just have to live with whatever comes attached to the butt.  At the price your paying for premium jeans, though, this is almost as crazy as buying a new car with someone else’s obscene bumper stickers permanently blaring out the back end of your vehicle.  Luckily, most pockets don’t wind you up getting flipped off, but they often do make an equally emotional impact on their viewer.  Whether you like it or not, your pockets are constantly sending out subliminal (and not-so-subliminal) messages behind your back.

What are the hottest denim trends rocking the season’s night scenes that are not going to be in next seasons out box?
Our fashion forecast reads that the slim silhouettes that fortified our wardrobes for Fall will definitely NOT be flying South for the winter.  You can look forward to stretching a spring and even maybe a summer out of the skinny, slim and straight leg jeans in your drawers. 
This fall, we saw jeans tucked into boots and it was the hottest thing to hit the jeans scene since the skinny itself busted out last year. Now, with lots of semi-formal festivities staring us all in the face, we’re seeing this style kept on personal playlists for winter wardrobes with the added feature of keeping our stomachs on tight holiday budgets.  Bonus! 
If you’re still wondering how to make hot denim buys this year that will grow in popularity and versatility for next year, consider venturing into the winter wonderland of dark denim.
Dark or black denim with matching or minimal pocket detailing is the easiest to dress up with holiday flare.  Try introducing a satin slit sleeve top and stilettos. As your shopping for that perfect fit, also keep in mind that you’ll need enough stretch to comfortably sway to the hottest new songs come spring.
