Of all places, the Wall Street Journal just posted a great article on the rise of power jeans. And what are power jeans, you ask? Today, CEOs, top executives, and world presidents have finally figured out that a great pair of fitted denim can be highly professional and comfortable of course. After all, a top dog in jeans says to onlookers, “Hey people, I got this. Chillax.”

So how do you get this look? To do power jeans right, you’ll need jeans that are perfectly tailored to your body (plug for custom jeans) and select the right items to be paired with those bad boys. At indi, we endorse a collared shirt, either or a tie or a blazer, and a nice pair or shoes (no sneakers!). The goal here is to look classy and cool at the same time, so just make sure you got that balance down pat!
Also, if you’re looking for a distraction, check out this WSJ slide show on the evolution of jeans from the late 1800s to today. There’s nothing like taking a trip down memory lane to cure your case of the Mondays…
